Story
High in Caldono, Cauca, Finca Patio Bonito covers eleven hectares, nine of them planted with coffee. Across the farm, 47,000 trees represent thirteen distinct varieties. Carlos Arturo Trujillo has cultivated coffee here for almost fifty years, building a family farm grounded in quality, soil conservation and care for the land.
Nearly fifty years of experience meet a new generation of expertise at Patio Bonito. Carlos works alongside his daughter Paola, a former coffee cupper and green-coffee buyer who returned to the farm in 2022. Together, they continue refining the farm’s washed and natural processes, joining Carlos’s experience with Paola’s precise understanding of quality and flavour.
This Bourbon Ají was processed as a washed coffee, creating a clean setting for the variety’s distinctive fruit character. Paola has helped refine processing at Patio Bonito since returning to the farm in 2022, drawing on her experience as a cupper and buyer to pursue greater clarity, sweetness and expression.

High in Caldono, Cauca, Finca Patio Bonito covers eleven hectares — nine of them planted with coffee, some 47,000 trees across thirteen varieties. Ocean winds and altitude make Cauca one of Colombia’s coolest coffee regions. Carlos Arturo Trujillo has farmed this land for almost fifty years, building a family farm grounded in quality, soil conservation and care for the land.

Nearly fifty years of experience meet a new generation at Patio Bonito. Carlos works alongside his daughter Paola — a former cupper and green-coffee buyer in Nariño and Huila who returned to the farm in 2022. Together they refine the farm’s washed and natural processes, pairing Carlos’s experience with Paola’s precise reading of quality and flavour.

This Bourbon Ají is a washed coffee — cherries picked ripe, depulped the same day, then fermented in tanks before being washed clean and dried. Since returning in 2022, Paola has reshaped processing here, drawing on her years cupping and buying to chase greater clarity and sweetness, experimenting with methods like thermal shock and anaerobic modulation.
Tangy, juicy, fruit-forward.
